Meet the Doctor

Dr. Gerald Coppola

Dr. Gerald Coppola graduated with his Bachelor’s degree in 1987 from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey where he majored in Biology and minored in Psychology and Visual Arts. He received his Doctorate degree from New York Chiropractic College in Greenville, NY and completed his internship at The Levittown Chiropractic Clinic in 1991. Dr. Coppola was an associate doctor for three years, then opened his own practice in Belmar, New Jersey in 1994. He maintained private practice in Belmar for six years during which time he served on the Board of Directors of the Belmar Chamber of Commerce. He was also a Charter Member of the Freehold Area Kiwanis Club where he served on the Board for two years.

Dr. Coppola began practicing in Pottstown, Pennsylvania in 1998 and sold his New Jersey practice in 2000. He has been with Pottstown Chiropractic Rehabilitation Center since the summer of 2001. He is certified by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners and is also certified in Adjunctive Therapeutic Procedures by the Pennsylvania State Board of Chiropractic. Dr. Coppola is well versed in several different chiropractic techniques, including Diversified, Activator, Trigger Point Therapy and Active Release Technique. He also employs a variety of injury specific rehabilitation protocols designed to strengthen and stabilize the spine and extremities, and prevent recurring injuries and chronic problems. Dr. Coppola has years of experience in treating all types of musculo-skeletal complaints, and has especially enjoyed great success with patients suffering from headaches, neck pain, low back pain and sciatica.

Dr. Coppola resides in Perkiomen Township with his wife, Valerie and three children Jared, Jordan and Jacob.

 

 Dr. JoEllen Halteman

Dr. Jo Ellen Halteman has been in practice in the Gilberstville area with her husband, Dr. Mark Halteman,
for nearly 20 years and has been living in the surrounding area for 22 years. Born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa, Dr.
Jo Ellen, or Dr. J as her patients call her, did her undergraduate work at South Dakota State University and
began her post graduate work at Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, Missouri. She finished her
doctorate degree at Pennsylvania College of Chiropractic after moving to this area to get married. The
Halteman family of chiropractors has been serving the community for three generations and will
continue helping the greater Pottstown area achieve maximum health for many years to come.

Dr. J has always had a special interest in sports and nutrition. She has many post graduate hours of
training in the treatment of sports related injuries and has membership in the Council on Nutrition
headed by the ACA since 1992. She has been Board Certified in Spinographic Radiology and Adjunctive
Therapeutic Procedures as well as Chiropractic care since 1990. She uses several different techniques
including Diversified, Activator, Thompson Drop,  Cox Flexion/Distraction, Trigger Point Therapy and
Active Release Technique. She also employs a variey of injury specific rehab protocols designed to
strengthen and stabilize the spine and extremities, and prevent reocurring injuries and chronic problems.
Dr. J has had many years of experience treating all types of patients from the serious athlete, to the
newborn, to the grandparent. She has had success in returning many patients back to their daily routines
as quickly as possible.

Dr. Jo Ellen and Dr. Mark have two teenage daughters who keep them extremely busy traveling the
country attending all of their basketball games. Dr. J enjoys the outdoors, all sports, music, dance and
the theater. Family, health, and the well being of others are of the utmost importance to Dr. J and she
will always strive to give her patients the very best care possible!
